This was long pending trip since the monsoon. Finally went in the first week of Feb to see the lake mostly dried out and empty. Pulicat lake is filled with monsoon water from 3 different lakes of Tamil Nadu and Andhra. It slowly drains to the Bay of Bengal in few months.
When we went, most of the water drained out and no birds. This is feeding ground for birds between November to mid of January and lot of birds can be seen during this time. With below lessons and marking for next visit, returned back!
Months to visit – Nov to Jan mid; Time to visit – early morning hours (this is more of a feeding ground) ; combine with : Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary & Sriharikota launch (if possible)
