It’s been many years that I read fiction or novels. Somehow the interest got changed with misunderstanding of its ‘not real’ thought. Getting back to classic novels or literature, with the realisation of experiencing the book for one self and the learning it would bring to.
Actually started with Underground, with in couple of pages switched to J.J Sila kurippugal, to vishnupuram. All stopped with in few pages, realised I have steps to climb before getting in to these books. That’s when picked up this book.
Book starts with the tree, slowly gains momentum from its early days. Story teller of the book builds it from his perspective, phases the tree had gone through and key people involved with the tree. It could be the king who put the roads, sellama who committed suicide, story teller damo asaan, rivals damu and kaadhar.
There are some local dialects that has to be read couple of times. Realised later that creating a mind map would give even more deeper experience of characters.
Depth of the book comes from its characterisation, details of the places and events, social outlook of the time (even after 50+ years, it remains the same though), philosophical thoughts through the characters.
